About
C. Butenhoff
Born in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1959, Charles spent the 1960's with his primary years of life and education in western Minnesota. Nicknames of "Charles", "Chuck", "Charlie", and "C" were attached depending on the relationship. His secondary years of the 70's were experienced growing up in Lewistown, Montana, with post secondary studies and a B.A. degree in Art/Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He resided in both states through those years of education, with school in Minnesota through the fall to spring, and work and play during his summers in Montana. The 80's were spent teaching school in Monticello, MN and earning a Master's Degree in Special Education/Autism Studies at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN., The 90's, 2000's, and 10's led to teaching in Brainerd, MN and the attainment of a Minnesota Education Degree in Principal and Superintendent Licensure from St. Cloud State University and teaching until his retirement in 2016. All of those experiences, as a kid in elementary school to an adult in graduate school, molded and enforced a life long theme in admiring the beauty and creativity of humankind, its diverse arts and cultures, and with a quest to always find the next level in life. To care for children, and defend those around us whom have become prey to others.

Charles and his wife Therese raised their three children in Aitkin, Minnesota, where they enjoyed public school, sports, music, art, hunting, fishing, gardening, and a wonderful lifestyle on a small rural farm.

After 33 years of teaching Special Education and Art in Minnesota Public Schools, Charles is now retired, creating his own artwork, adoring his children and grandchildren, attempting to be a better man, maintaining their farm, and hopefully writing and illustrating more books.
